“The cultural landscape of foothill villages in the Kłodzko region”

Code of nature and culture. Why is it worth protecting beautiful views and evil witches – the first meeting in the series “Cultural landscape of foothill villages in the Kłodzko region”

Lewin Kłodzki, together with the surrounding villages, is an original subregion that has been developing for many centuries far from the central political and economic centers, but in constant struggle with the conditions of the natural environment. Although the progressive industrialization, migrations and finally the almost complete population exchange after World War II changed many elements of the cultural landscape of this place, the DNA of the culture and nature of the Lewińskie Hills turned out to be strong, clear and becoming more and more attractive.

Beata Maciejewska, journalist, historian and author of guidebooks, will talk about the elements that create the cultural landscape: natural values and architecture, historical events and legends, belles-lettres and chronicle literature – that is, what is worth preserving and why it should be done.

We talked about natural values and architecture, historical events and legends, belles-lettres and chronicle literature. And above all, about what is unique in the Lewińskie Hills and what we should take care of. What is worth keeping and why you should do it.

We would like to thank the Municipal Cultural Center and Library for allowing the meeting at the center and for helping us organize it.
